Privacy Policy

MCOCHUB ("we", "this site") is a free fan project, kept online by advertising and by donations. This page explains what data the site touches and why. The short version: you can browse everything without an account, we don't sell your data, and the ads you see are served by Google rather than by us.

What we collect

  • Browsing. Public pages need no account. Standard technical cookies (session and security/CSRF tokens) are set to make the site work.
  • Advertising. We show ads through Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners set their own cookies and read device identifiers to select, deliver and measure the ads on this site. We don't control those cookies and we never receive your personal information from them — see Advertising & cookies below.
  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are used (page views, approximate region, device type). This data is aggregated and not used to identify you. Google may set its own cookies; see Google's privacy policy for details.
  • Local storage. Game data and your filter/tool preferences (e.g. prestige calculator roster) are cached in your browser's local storage for speed. This stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.
  • Support form. If you submit a report or request, we store what you write so we can act on it.
  • Accounts. Only site staff and contributors have accounts (name, e-mail, password hash). There is no public registration requirement to use the site.
  • Chat bots. The LINE, Telegram and Discord bots process the commands you send them only to generate a reply.
  • Ad-free membership. If you support MCOCHUB through Buy Me a Coffee, Buy Me a Coffee sends us the details of that support (your name, e-mail address, the amount, the tier and its dates, and whether it is active, paused, cancelled or refunded) so we can recognise you. Payment details never reach us; the payment itself is handled by Buy Me a Coffee under its own terms and privacy policy. When you ask for an ad-free sign-in link we store the e-mail you entered, the time, your IP address and browser, and whether a link was sent. Opening the link sets a cookie on that device holding a random token (no personal data) and records the device, IP address and last use, so the site can show you pages without ads. Sign out from the Ad-free page to remove it at any time.

Advertising & cookies

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices.
  • Where the law requires it — including for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — ads are limited to non-personalised ads unless you have given consent through Google's own controls. Non-personalised ads still use a limited amount of information (such as approximate location and page content) to serve the ad and to fight fraud and abuse.
  • How Google handles data from sites that use its services is described in Google's partner-sites policy.

Your choices

  • Ad-free members can sign a device out on the Ad-free page, or simply delete the cookie; the ad-free view ends on that device and can be turned on again with a new link.
  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Technical cookies aside, the site keeps working without them.
  • Turn off ad personalisation with the Google links above.
  • Opt out of Google Analytics entirely with Google's browser opt-out add-on.
  • Clear the site's cached game data by clearing your browser's local storage for this site.

What we don't do

  • No selling or sharing of personal data.
  • We don't profile you or make automated decisions about you.
  • We don't run our own tracking pixels, and we don't hand your details to advertisers — we have no access to the data the ad network collects.
  • Membership details received from Buy Me a Coffee are used only to recognise supporters and run the ad-free view; they are not shared with anyone else.

No guarantees

MCOCHUB is a volunteer-run fan project provided "as is". We take reasonable care with the data described here, but we give no guarantee of any kind and accept no responsibility or liability for any loss, damage or inconvenience arising from the use of this site, its tools, the chat bots, the ad-free view, the e-mails we send, or from any third-party service involved (Google, Buy Me a Coffee, your e-mail provider and others). Use of the site is entirely at your own risk.

Children

MCOCHUB is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their data. Ads shown on this site are not personalised for users identified as children where that is required by law.
